Lori Jansen, CPA, CGMA
Junior Partner, Assurance Services
While Lori is from Binghamton, NY, she actually graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Nova-Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL. She began her public accounting career in 1994 with Grant Thornton’s South Florida audit practice which is where she remained until 2001, when she returned to New York to be closer to family.
In her 23 years of public accounting experience, Lori primarily focused in audit and attest services for clients in industries such as manufacturing, employee benefit plans, engineering and construction contractors, real estate entities and non-profit organizations.
In early 2017, Lori created an independent consulting firm that offered her expertise in audit quality to small CPA firms. Her objective was to provide quality control reviews, training and recommendations for audit quality enhancement as these firms prepared for their compliance peer review. When she and Pat met in late 2017, they both felt that merging practices and experience would ultimately benefit both their clients and their business models.
Over her career, Lori has volunteered for community and professional service. She has served as both the Treasurer and President of the Southern Tier chapter of the New York State Society of CPAs (NYSSCPA) and is currently on the Board of Trustees for the NYSSCPA’s Foundation for Accounting Educatio where she formerly served as the Secretary. She was also previously on the Board of Directors for the Orange County Arts Council, the Child Care Council of Orange County and also served on the Allocations Committee and the Community Advisory Panel for the United Way of Orange County.
In her spare time, Lori enjoys spending time with her family, crocheting, attending concerts and playing women’s flat-track roller derby!
